Worship and Summer Sermon Series: RESIST!
Sun, Jul 6th 9:30am - 10:30am
Sanctuary and Online
Bethlehem Lutheran Church 9401 S. Oakley Ave. Chicago, IL 60643

The Book of Daniel in the Hebrew Bible is a book full of exciting tales like Daniel in the lions' den. But beneath the adventure is a powerful message on how to resist corrupt power by remaining faithful to God and to community. This summer, join us as we move our way through the folk tales of Daniel 1-6 and then into the apocalyptic texts of Daniel 7-12. Re-familiarize yourself with the stories of the fiery furnace, the writing on the wall, archangels Gabriel and Michael, and the first mention of resurrection in the scriptures. Most of all, take inspiration from these ancient stories for your own acts of resistance and be empowered by God to take a risky stand for justice and equity in a chaotic world. The sermon series will be Sundays, July 6-27 and August 10-24 at Bethlehem's 9:30 AM Worship service. You can participate in person or through our Facebook Live Stream. After worship, videos will be available on Facebook and at our web site.
